power slide cross the hardwood floor

These are the new Marc  Lakais.  Ha!  fooled you!  You thought they were sky blue sneakers.  Nope.  They are socks.  From Stance sock company.  Hey.  These are pretty great socks.  Are they really great?  I don't know.  They have a grippy tread thing going on.  I did a kick flip standing still whilst wearing them, but I also had the outer shell of a suede sneaker around them at the time so........

These socks are just fine, come on.  They're great.  My mom bought me a pair of Stance socks for Christmas last year and they are my favorite socks.  I wear them all the time when long sleeved socks are called for.  In the summer I wear ankle socks, but that is another post for another time.

November Mornings

The Lakai Marc's are still in the box.  I still have my second pair of KA-ONEs and a pair of VOX flim flammers in olive drab to tear through.  Getting there.  I figured I would share a review of two upper east coast breweries' winter seasonal offerings.

Blue Point Brewing's White IPA and Harpoon's Winter Warmer.  The can of spiced up IPA looked like   a  Piels at first.  Upon closer inspection it shown a logo surrounded by intricate mosaic tile.  With the word "Fresh" graffitied above the left corner of "IPA"  I wasn't sure if this artwork was going for "class act" or "historic urban decay".

Harpoon's label looked as it does every year.... classic green and red boughs of hollis motif.

While the White IPA was going for wheat beer meets hop heavy ale, the Harpoon goes for a stickier, maltier sort of approach.  When the brisk air is snapping and stinging, we can seek sound shelter with these delicious brews.

Leaves Turn Inside You

Have no fear loyal followers.... you can't kill a blog that's already dead.

The fall season is covering us with it's blanket of roasted and toastedness and I am loving it.   I have a few skate goods rapidly approaching the Smitty to Feebs headquarters for review.  Namely a pair of the new Marc Johnson signature Lakais.  I figured it's high time I revisit the skater owned brand, considering I haven't owned a pair since somewhere around 2001.   I believe those bad boys had air bags (pockets?  capsules?) in the heels and probably had some plastic pieces involved in the upper as well.   I remember enjoying their feel all the same.  The Marcs looked super sweet and although I was intrigued by the "cashew" colored model, I opted for black.  Always bet on black.

I also got some Stance Lakai socks, a Fourstar beanie and a damn grinder from Santa Cruz.  It has a rasta flavored Santa Cruz dot on the lid.  I will be reviewing the hell out of that little device and follow it up with the shoes and the socks and the hat.  In the meantime..... drop me a line.  Let me know you're out there awaiting some content.  I'll have this blog back up and rocking and rolling in no time.  Let's do this!

These are our "dawgs". Actually, only one of them is mine. That would be the buddy on the left. Known in some parts (TV Land) as the doggy detective with attitude, "Chief Inspector La La Buddington" is on the case, Monday 8:00, 7:00 central!

The other dog is called Tammy. Tammi? Sorry if I'm spelling the name of your dog wrong, Pete and Jess.

Pete and Jess are friends of mine. They are pretty cool. I first met Pete when he became my roomate all of a sudden. One minute I was like, "Who is this Navajo Indian guy?" and he was like " who is this skinhead?" We got along pretty great right off the bat. He is not Navajo.

Cool that these dogs can cold chill in a way.

Chilly dogs.

Here is a photo of Zangsteinenfeild. He's serving up a hot dog with the works.

I took my skateboard to band practice today and I realized it had been a month since I had worked out on the plank. I felt like a dick, but... my wife and I recently decided that dick means "cool."

It all started with a failed text message she had sent to the band. It read, "Sorry, I can't make it, I'm so dick!"

Later she let us know that "dick" meant "sick". Then we joked that dick could be the new slang for "cool". You are soooo DICK!

I did a couple ollies on the way to practice. I ollied a manhole cover on the way home and fell so graceful. A patrolman was at the end of the block. Coppers are still coppers.
